Breast augmentation, technically known as augmentation mammoplasty, is a surgical procedure to enhance the size and shape of a woman’s breast using saline-filled or Cohesive Silicone Gel implants. By inserting an implant behind each breast.

Surgeons are able to increase a woman’s bust line by one or more bra cup sizes.  It may also be done to balance asymmetry that may result from post mastectomy reconstruction.

Preparation – breast augmentation preparation

- Inform us about any allergies, any serious medical condition(s), and all medications you are

taking (both prescription and non-prescription).

- No Aspirin 2 days before surgery.

- Stop vitamin E Oil 1 day before surgery.

- Stop smoking 2 days and a month after surgery.

- Purchase a “post-op” bra (Sport bra) to support prior after surgery, the bra may or may not have been applied.

- Tell doctor if you have any serious medical condition(s).

- Stop meal and water starting from midnight before surgery.

- Plan to be in Thailand at least 5-7 days after surgery.

 

The surgical Procedure – breast augmentation operation

The breast implant can be placed either sub-muscular or sub-glandular.  During consultation, the surgeon will be discuss and take a look at the benefits of each implant placement option.

The surgeon can recommend the approach best suited to your body type and goals.

Postoperative Recovery – breast augmentation recovery

Treatment after surgery during the first 7 days of Breast Augmentation: breast augmentation post op care

You may told to use a specific post-operative bra, compression bandage, sport bra  or extra support and positioning while you heal.

- The day after surgery. PAI doctor team will visit and remove the lymph drainage lines and release the loose fabric.

- You can remove the fabric stretch out on the third day and wear surgical bra or Sports Bra. 

Please purchase a sport bra without wire (bigger than current size).  You need to wear after surgery. This can be purchase in shopping malls.

- The shower bath can be extended after removing fabric.

- Sports Bra should wear all day and night

- Removing Incisions and Program massage will appoint within 5-7 days after surgery.

- No heavy exercise 2 weeks after surgery

- Follow Program massage within week 2 and continue at least 6 month or more

- Apply Vitamin E Oil to help scar softer and dimmed down

Breast Augmentation questions.

Q: Why did you decide to get breast augmentation?

A: I had always been dissatisfied with the way my body looked and I really wanted to get my boobs done to boost my self-esteem.  I want to look better.  It’s also easier to selecting and wearing clothes.

Q: Why did you choose PAI?

A: The surgeon’s skill was my first priority, followed by price.  I asked other people, mostly my friends or friends of friends who’d had it done.

Q: What was the process before operation?

A: I met with doctor and had an initial consultation where I selected the breast size I wanted.  After that it was a matter of showing up and the clinic did the rest.

Q: How long did it take to recover?

A: I felt no pain after the second day, and was able to drive on the third day after surgery. The swelling lasted for about two weeks.

Q: Was it worth it?

A: I am now more confident with how I look.  I am pleased with my body with and without clothes.

Q: How to choose the breast implant?

A: Choosing the implant size is an important decision.  To avoid disappointing results, the person needs to understand their body size.  Don’t just focus on having it big, but instead, look for something that’ll make your body proportionate.  Also listen to the doctor is the most important advice.

Q: Are Cohesive Gel Implants at your clinic approval by FDA?

Yes.  We are using two companies manufacturing cohesive gel-filled breast implants, which are only approved by FDA concludes sufficient safety data on silicone gel-filled breast implants has been collected and provided by the makers for augmentation.

Q: How long breast augmentation recovery period ?

The nipple or breast numbness may lose some sensitive but it will be normal within 2-3 month.

Swelling, bruises may take up to 7 days.  Size of the breasts will get smaller than the first day due to the swelling period.

No problem with Mammogram.

Recommended to wear sport bra at least a month or surgeon is recommended.

Wear sport bra within good balance position between breasts

- First week = Wearing all day and night

- Second week = Wearing all day

- Swelling and bruises will be remain about 3-4 weeks and be fully recovery 8-12 weeks.

- Deodorant may apply after 5-7 days.

- You should prepared by shaving armpits before surgery.

- Generally the most discomfort is the first three days later will be better. Start to walk; in order to stretch the muscles will help relieve the pain.

- On the first day, you may use cold pad between the breasts.

- If having sex 2 weeks after surgery (be careful touching breasts).

- During two weeks after surgery, you may lay down on bed and use two bolster pillows.  This will help reduce the swelling down.

- Skin tension to the chest. In general, swelling is reduced tension in the 2-3 weeks the skin will look normal and natural.

- Scar is evident early in the first 2-3 months. The scars will be darker in color and thick, and will gradually dimmed down until soft and normal in 8-12 months time, So early after surgery, you should avoid the sunlight or should apply sun blocks  SPF 30 or higher for 2 weeks.  Prohibited sun bathing 4 wks.

Q: What is Cohesive Gel Implant ?

A: Cohesive Gel is the next generation of silicone implants.  They are pre-filled with cohesive silicone gel.  Breast implants hold safely and uniformly together to deliver a natural feel that closely resembles natural breast tissue.   We have cut a Cohesive gel implant in half to demonstrate how the gel material can hold together uniformly.  It does this because of a cohesive, gelatin-like substance that acts as a solid rather than a liquid maintaining its shape.
