Chin augmentation is a surgical procedure to reshape or increase the size of the chin for better projection and appearance.  It can balance the profile by extending the chin in relationship to the nose.

Chin augmentation surgery may take anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour. It is performed either under general anesthetic or under a local anesthetic with sedation.  Most chin augmentation procedures involve an incision inside the mouth inside the lower lip or in the skin just under the chin.  The surgeon inserts the chin implant via the incision and maneuvers it into place and the incision is closed with sutures.

The skin may be taped with a pressure dressing for about one week after surgery.

Chin augmentation seek to increase or reduce the size of the chin by altering the underlying structure of the face providing better balance to the facial features.  It may seek to correct a birth defect or injury.

Chin augmentation Pre – surgery 

The best candidates for chin augmentation surgery are patients with weak chins, but with a normal dental bite.   The surgeon will make the final determination of each patient’s eligibility for the procedure after an examination and consultation with the patient.

After examining, the surgeon will discuss

1. the variables that influence the decisions involved in the procedure such as length, width and symmetry of chin and the degree of projection desired

2. Surgeon will explain the specific details of your case such as technique will be used, anesthesia, where the operation will be performed and realistically can accomplish

3. Risk and cost should be discussed with the surgeon at this time

 

Chin Augmentation recovery Thailand

After surgery, there is some soreness and discomfort which is easily controlled by medication.  The surgeon may advise a liquid diet for a day or two following surgery.  The patient is generally up and about the same day as surgery and back to work and normal activities within a few days.  The dressing usually is removed within a week of surgery.

If using credit cards, the hospital will charged 3% for international transaction fee.  This is only for surgery fees.  Hotels are not charged for international transaction fee.

An extra charged for HIV is 30% from total cost.
