Rhinoplasty (Nose Augmentation)

 

Rhinoplasty  or Nose Augmentation is to create an attractive, bridge, curve and natural looking face.  There are various different techniques in Asian rhinoplasty and may vary according to individual variations of the nose.  The aim nose augmentation rhinoplasty is an aesthetically pleasing, improve the function or appearance of the nose with an elegant projection nasal tip.  Rhinoplasty may consider as congenital or injury to provide overall balanced, symmetrical look to the facial structure.

Preparation:

- Inform us about any allergies, any serious medical condition(s), and all medications you are taking (both prescription and non-prescription).

- No Aspirin 1 day before surgery.

- Stop vitamin E Oil 1 day before surgery.

- Stop smoking 2 days and a month after surgery.

- Tell doctor if you have any serious medical condition(s).

- Plan to be in Thailand 2-3 days after surgery.

- On the day before your Rhinoplasty surgery, make sure that you have the following items stocked at home: ice cubes or ice pack

- Cosmetics should not be worn.  Also, be sure that you have arranged for someone to take you to and from the clinic.

 

Surgical procedure

Rhinoplasty surgery – The incisions are placed on the rim of the alar of nose. Dissection along the nose is done to create the appropriate space for silicone implant. Soft medical-grade silicone implant is carved intraoperatively and inserted through an incision inside the nose, to increase the height of the nose and refine nasal tip projection.

 

Postoperative recovery – Rhinoplasty

The recovery process after Rhinoplasty will take around 5-7 days.  You will receive instruction for during the home care.  The first three days doctor recommend keeping iced eye pack on the eyes to reduce bruising and swelling.

Patients are recommended to keep their head higher than the body while sleeping as this will accelerate the recovery process.

The third day after surgery, this is the most swollen and bruise and will reduce day by day till day 5.  After day 5, you may start to do normal activity.
Wearing contact lenses is prohibited from day 1 to day 5.

Therefore, Rhinoplasty may leave patients with bruises or swelling on their faces, which are completely normal, which disappear in few weeks.

For full recovery and natural refine, it may take 1-3 month.

 

Treatment after surgery during the first 5 days of Rhinoplasty:

Cleaning

1. Use a Q-tip dipped with sterile water to first gently clean the sutures for a week until follow up visit on appointment date.

2. Dry clean with Q-tip.

- No incisions to be remove (dissolve stitches) after surgery.

- No heavy exercise 2 weeks after surgery.

- Avoid hard attack for 2-3 weeks.

- Wearing contact lenses is prohibited until day 7.

- Scars are usually well hidden inside nose and normally fade in time.

- Swelling and bruising can be minimized by keeping the head elevated as much as possible during the first few days of recovery.

- Frequent naps are recommended.

- Avoid any pressure on the nose. This also includes no eyeglasses and no sunglasses until cleared by your surgeon.

- Sleep with the head elevated 20-30 degrees to avoid accidentally turning over on your nose.

- A slight amount of bleeding and/or oozing is normal during the first 2-3 days.

- Do NOT blow your nose. If you sneeze, open your mouth to divert the airflow away from the nose.

- Taking the medication as directed.

- Call us or email in the meantime if you have any additional questions or concerns.

- Follow-up appointment by  surgeon will be appoint after surgery and mostly within 5-7 days, if need.

Cost rhinoplasty

1. The payment can be prepared in Cash by US dollars, Euro Dollar, Japanese Yen, HKD, SGD, AUD or pay by Traveler‘s Cheques.

2. Bank’s transfer.

3. If using credit cards, the hospital will charged 3% for international transaction fee.  This is only for surgery fees.  Hotels are not charged for international transaction fee.

An extra charged for HIV is 30% from total cost.
