What is a face lift?

As we grow older the skin covering the fatty tissue on our faces begins to loosen and sag in various places. This loosening of skin produces wrinkles and enhances the skin folds of the face, especially around the jaw, chin and neck area. Rhytidectomy, or facelift, is a procedure that tightens the muscles and skin of face producing a younger looking appearance.

If you are bothered by signs of aging in your face specially over 50 years old, full facelift surgery may be right for you. Technically known as rhytidectomy, a full facelift is a surgical procedure to improve visible signs of aging in the face (Forehead, Jaw+Cheek and neck lift).

 

Best candidate for “Full Facelift”

- Deep creases below the lower eyelids

- Deep creases along the nose extending to the corner of the mouth

- Fat that has fallen or is displaced

Full Facelift’s preparation Thailand

- Inform us about any allergies, any serious medical condition(s), and all medications you are taking (both prescription and non-prescription.

- Prepare question(s) for surgeon.

- No Aspirin 2 days before surgery.

- Stop vitamin E Oil 1 day before surgery.

- Stop smoking 2 days and a month after surgery.

- Tell doctor if you have any serious medical condition(s).

- Surgeon will discuss other variables that influence the decision involved in the procedure

- Surgeon will explain the specific details, technique to be used, where the operation will be performed and what realistically can accomplish

- Stop meal and water starting from midnight before surgery.

- Plan to be in Thailand at least 10 days after surgery.

 

Full Facelift procedure :

Full Facelift surgery, medications are administered for your comfort during a facelift procedure. The choices include general anesthesia. The surgeon will recommend the best choice for you.

A variety of other procedures can further enhance the outcome of a facelift.

The incision

Depending on the degree of change you’d like to see, your facelift surgery choices include a traditional facelift, limited incision facelift or a neck lift.

A traditional facelift incision often begins in the hairline at the temples, continues around the ear and ends in the lower scalp. Fat may be sculpted or redistributed from the face, jowls and neck. Underlying tissue is repositioned, commonly the deeper layers of the face and the muscles are also lifted.

Skin is redropped over the uplifted contours and excess skin is trimmed away. A second incision under the chin may be necessary to further improve an aging neck. Sutures or skin adhesives close the incisions.

An alternative to a traditional facelift uses shorter incisions at the temples, continuing around the ear and possibly within the lower eyelids or under the upper lip.

Sagging jowls, loose neck skin and fat accumulation under the chin may be corrected with a neck lift. The neck lift incision often begins in front of the ear lobe and wraps around behind the ear ending in the lower scalp.

Once healed, the incision lines from a facelift are well concealed within the hairline and in the natural contours of the face and ear.

The visible improvements of a facelift appear as swelling and bruising subside. Your final result should not only restore a more youthful and rested appearance, but also help you feel more confident about yourself.

 

Post operative Recovery

After full facelift surgery, there is some soreness and discomfort which is easily controlled by medication.  Dressings commonly are removed in a few days.  You will releases in three day, if admitted to a hospital.

Swelling and skin discoloration are common and usually will subside within a week or two.  Many patients report a sense of tightness or numbness of the face and neck after surgery.   The intensity of these conditions and how long they will last varies with the individual.

The objective of a facelift operation is a natural, younger, more attractive appearance.  However, normal healing is a gradual process, with final results not fully realized for at least three weeks.

- No heavy exercise 4 weeks after surgery

To permit proper healing, you should avoid excessive exercise and refrain from overhead lifting for there to four weeks.  The decision on when to return to work and normal activities depends on how fast you heal and how you feel.

Facelift

Q: Where and how will you perform full facelift ?

A: Facelift will be performing under General anesthesia and in hospital. You are only required to be in hospital for 3 days after surgery, which already include within package.  You may move back to hotel for recovery period.

Q: How long a recovery period can I expect, and what kind of help will I need during my recovery?

A: You are required to be in Thailand 10 days after surgery.  During recovery period in Thailand, we will appoint you for follow up.   All services will be take care by PAI. Swollen and Bruises will be fade away within 3 month.

Q: How are complications handled?

A: As long as you are with us for 10 days.  Complication is very rare.  We have to make sure that you are recovery enough before flying back.

Q: How many years of plastic surgery training have you had?

A: Our plastic surgeon must be highly trained and standard for international plastic society.  So most of our surgeon must be trained and do oversea seminar every year.  Our surgeons are well trained in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery more than 15 years.

Q: Why did you select PAI for surgery?

A: I had heard from this clinic for a while, and I knew that this clinic has been at least 30 years of experience of cosmetic surgery.  Plus one of my friends, also had surgery done here.  She confirmed their skills.

PAI’s question : Did it hurt full facelift?

A: I felt a little achey the next day.  It was bearable, but I needed to take very good care of the wounds and was not able to wash my hair for a whole week.  The ache disappeared on the second week.  It felt great.

A: The excess skin vanished and my face became firmer.  Most people can not tell I had a facelift.  Instead, they think I just took very good care of my face, and that I look so much younger than I really am.

 

What are some of the most common benefits of full facelift surgery?

While this procedure cannot stop the aging process, it can often make a person appear to be a decade younger than their actual age. Facelifts are the fifth most commonly performed plastic surgery procedures in the United States.

 

How long is full facelift last?

No one can say for sure. The clock is turned back, but keeps on running. Ten years later, you will look better than if you never had surgery. Many patients never have a second lift, while others may desire further surgery seven to 15 years later.

 

Do you believe in Endoscopic Facelift ?

I don’t believe in Endoscopic Facelift because it can not remove the excessed skin and tighten the underlying muscles.
