Preparations :

  • Inform us about any allergies, any serious medical condition(s), and all medications you are 
    taking (both prescription and non-prescription). 
  • Prepare question(s) for surgeon.
  • No Aspirin 2 days before surgery.
  • Stop vitamin E Oil 1 day before surgery.
  • Stop smoking 2 days and a month after surgery.
  • Tell doctor if you have any serious medical condition(s). 
  • Surgeon will conduct age, family history, medical health and x-ray
  • Surgeon will discuss other variables that influence the decision involved in the procedure
  • Surgeon will explain the specific details, technique to be used, where the operation will be performed and what realistically can accomplish
  • Stop meal and water starting from midnight before surgery.
  • Plan to be in Thailand at least 14 days after surgery.

Abdominoplasty surgical trip (international's patient / upcountry ) :

  • Day 0 - Check in hotel
  • Day 1 - Consultation and Prepare for Laboratory Testing at Preecha Aesthetic Institute
  • Day 2 to 4 - Surgery date with two nights in hospital private ward. Check out hotel.
  • Day 4 - Discharge from Hospital
  • Day 4 to Day 12 - Check in hotel. Stay at hotel for recovery period and follow up on doctor appointments
  • Day 12 - Stitches removal 
  • Day 14 - Final check and Safe to fly. Check out hotel.

 

The surgical Tummy Tuck Procedure is required under general anesthesia for your comfort during the surgical procedures.

Full tummy tuck's required a horizontally  - oriented incision in the area between the pubic hairline and belly button. The shape and length of the incision will be determined by the amount of excess skin.

Once the abdominal skin is lifted, the underlying weakened abdominal muscles are repaired. The excess skin is trimmed and the remaining skin is sutured together. A new opening for the belly button is created.

The belly button is popped through to the surface and sutured into position. Incisions are closing by sutures, skin adhesives, tapes close the skin.

The incision will leave a scar along the abdomen (horizontal incision line). The scar will fade a bit over time (remain visible for years to come).

The surgeon will place the incision, ensuring the scar is well-concealed under clothing, underwear and swimsuit bottoms.

Your tummy tuck will result in a flatter, firmer abdominal contour that is more proportionate with your body type and weight.

After Tummy Tuck surgery, there is some soreness and discomfort which is easily controlled by medication. 

Dressings or bandages may be applied to incisions, and may be wrapped in an elastic bandage or a compression garment to minimize swelling and support your abdomen as it heals following surgery.

Swelling and skin discoloration around the incisions generally will subside in a few weeks.  Sutures will be removed within ten day of surgery.

Scars remain highly visible for a year following surgery, then fade to some degree.  Since incisions were made around and below the belly, scars should not be notice able even in low-cut.

Recovery Timeline :

  • Normal work can be resumed day 10 after tummy tuck surgery (desk job).
  • Vigorous activity should be limited for several weeks, including jogging, or any activity that increases your blood pressure for one month surgery.
  • Removing incisions 7 to 10 days after surgery
  • No heavy exercise 8 to 12 weeks after surgery
  • Scars are usually well hidden and normally fade in time

 

Tips to minimize Tummy Tuck timeline :

  • Proper healing starts with more rest
  • Eat a healthy meals and drink plenty of water to help reduce swelling 
  • No strenuous exercise for 8 weeks
  • Wear post operative compression girdle follow instruction from your doctor
  • Continue daily take home medicines prescribed by doctor
  • Post operative follow up by appointments
  • Do not smoke, vape for three weeks
  • Do not sleep on side for two weeks
  • Apply scar gel after stitches removed
  • Avoid sun direct exposure for a few weeks

 

  • For local’s patient - You may resume to work after a few days but must avoid heavy lifting object over the head or fast movement during 4 to 6 weeks after surgery date. Stitches are remove day 7 to day 10 after surgery date.
  • For oversea patient - Please plan to be in Bangkok at least seven days. Stitches will remove day 7  to day 10 after surgery date. You may resume to work after removed stitches but must avoid heavy lifting object over the head or fast movement during 4 to 6 weeks after surgery date.

◊ Any bruising and swelling will usually dissipate within 2 to 3 months after Abdominoplasty surgery.

 

Treatment after surgery
during the first 7 days

  • The day after surgery, PAI doctor will visit you in hospital as daily.
  • Removing incisions and follow up cares will appoint day 7 to day 10 after surgery at Preecha Aesthetic Institute.
  • Girdle need to wear after stitches removal and follow instructions by doctor's advice.
  • No heavy exercise 6 weeks after surgery
  • To permit proper healing, you should avoid excessive exercise and refrain from overhead lifting for there to four weeks.
  • The decision on when to return to work and normal activities depends on how fast you heal and how you feel.

A: You will be stay in hospital private room after surgery for 2 nights (3 days). After release from hospital, we will send you to your hotel for recovery period as well as follow up period, which will be assisting by PAI’s transportation service.

Q: What medication will I be given or prescribed after surgery?

A: The surgeon will give during pre-surgery as well as Post surgery.

Q: Will I have dressings/bandages after surgery? When will they be removed?

A: Yes. You will have bandages after surgery. They will remove after 3-5 days and stitches will remove after 5-8 days.
