This minor surgical procedure is performed for cosmetic reasons. The main reason being that of replacing hair lost through baldness. This typically affects more men than women and usually attributed to the ‘male pattern baldness’’ though women can experience as well albeit to a lesser extent.

For men being bald, this is an undesirable state. The possession of a full head of hair is seen as a signifier of youth and vigor. So any loss of that hair is viewed in a negative light result in feelings of depression and inadequacy.

The treatments for this include wigs, medication, and scalp surgery. One such form of scalp surgery is a hair transplant. This involves the surgeon removing one section of hair from a healthy area and transplanting it to the bald section. This process is repeated as and where necessary. FUT Method is the best result for hair transplant because each graft get root canal. So possibility of hair regrew.

Once you know your planning date for surgery. Here is the next step:

surgical details:

  • Inform us about any allergies, any serious medical condition(s), and all medications you are taking (both prescription and non-prescription). 
  • No Aspirin 2 days before surgery.
  • Stop vitamin E Oil 1 day before surgery.
  • Stop smoking 2 days and a month after surgery.
  • Tell doctor if you have any serious medical condition(s). 
  • Plan to be in Thailand at least 7 days after surgery.

Make sure to shower and shampoo before the procedure. Cosmetics should not be worn. 

 FUT / STRIP (Follicular Unit Transplant Technique) -is a well-established and highly practiced,surgical method for hair restoration 

A hair transplant session is carried out under a local anesthetic and can last up to 4 – 8 hours depending on the size of the area and number of hairs to be transplanted.

The surgeon will numb the area designated for the harvesting of the healthy hair. The surgeon will remove a cluster of hair follicles from that area, and then will transfer it to the required area.

Depending on the size of the area for transplantation, this process is repeated several times until the required area is completed. The hair is placed in the direction in which it is meant to grow in order to ensure a natural look.

Once this process is finished, the surgeon will then sew up the area from which the hair was taken from and cover it with a bandage. Multiple sessions may be required in some cases.

As with all cosmetic procedures, you need to have realistic expectations. Most hair transplants are successful, with newly transplanted hairs growing 16 weeks after the procedure though it can take up to 9 months for the complete growth.

It is important to note that the most successful transplants are those in which the patient started with thicker and substantial hair. If you do not have much hair to start with then this procedure will not result in a full head of hair, although it will improve on what you have got.

Transplanted hair is subject to the ageing process in the same way as the existing hair in that there will be some slight reduction in density over time.

If using credit cards (VISA/Master card), the hospital will charged 3% for international transaction fee. This is only for surgery fees. Hotels are not charged for international transaction fee. An extra charged for HIV is 50% from total cost.

Q: How long is the recovery?

A: Most hair transplants are successful, with newly transplanted hairs growing 16 weeks after the procedure though it can take up to 9 months for the complete growth.

Q: What type of surgeon should perform my procedure?

A: The ideal this type of doctor is certified by the Board of Plastic and is specially trained in plastic surgery of the surgeries and surrounding structures of the face. General cosmetic surgeons do not undergo such specialized training in plastic surgery of the Hair Transplant.

Q: FUT method is for the best results but it may leave a scar. Will the scar be very obvious.

A: FUT Method is the best result for hair transplant because each graft get root canal. So possibility of hair regrew. The scar may be obvious, if the surgeon performed too many grafts per session in one trip. For our recommendation, each session should be limit up to 2,500 grafts per trip. The result less scar can be seen.

Q: With regards to my hair implant procedure, would you be doing the “strip procedure” or the “follicular unit extraction” method ?

A: We are doing FUT method. The result is better because root canal.
