The goal of breast implant removal / breast aug removal surgery (explant surgery) is to remove implant from breast augmentation or woman who is no longer need implants.

Some lady would prefer to restore as natural breast shape like original breast size or no longer need breast implant or breast capsule which is the scar tissue that form after the placement of a breast implant.

  • Physically healthy and emotionally stable with realistic expectations as to what the surgery can and cannot do

surgical details:

  • Inform us about any allergies, any serious medical condition(s), and all medications you are
    taking (both prescription and non-prescription).
  • No Aspirin 2 days before surgery.
  • Stop vitamin E Oil 1 day before surgery.
  • Stop smoking 2 days and a month after surgery.
  • Tell doctor if you have any serious medical condition(s).
  • Stop meal and water starting from midnight before surgery.
  • Plan to be in Thailand at least 8 days after surgery.

Breast implant removal requires an incision to be placed along the lower fold of your breast (the inframammary fold) or an incision around or below the areola. Operation’s depend on your particular surgery and your surgeon. If the breast capsules and implants are remove these using combination of techniques.

Medications are administered for your comfort during the surgical procedure and is by general anesthesia. We (doctors) will recommend the best choice for you. Breast implant removal may result in a different shape of the breast profile, which may be flatter or droopier than before surgery and have irregularities and/or indentations. You may also notice that the breast can take on a different shape with indentations depending on how much scar tissue was produced around your implants.

 

Over time the incision lines will fade. The quality of scar depends on many things include your genetics, exposure of your body to nicotine and infection.

Following your breast implant removal surgery, gauze dressings or bandages and you may have drains. You may be placed in a support bra or surgical garment, and there are times that a compression garment may be used to minimize swelling following surgery.

 

Healing will continue for several weeks as swelling decreases. Continue to follow our plastic surgeon instructions and attend follow-up visits as schedule.

Recovery Timeline Breast implant removal.

You are required to stay in hospital private room one night and wear a compression bandage or a special surgical support bra. If a drain is introduced during the surgery, it is removed within 24 hours or before discharge from hospital. The stitches are removed in 7 days after the surgery.

You will be able to resume everyday activities after a few days but must avoid lifting objects over the head or making fast movements during three weeks. If you have small children who require a lot of lifting, you need to plan an additional help during the initial recovery period.

For local’s patient – You may resume to work after a few days but must avoid heavy lifting object over the head or fast movement during 3 weeks after surgery date.

For international patient – Please plan to be in Bangkok at least 9 days. Stitches will remove day 7 after surgery date. After departure from Thailand, you may resume to work within a few days but must avoid heavy lifting object over the head or fast movement during 3 weeks after surgery date.

◊ Any bruising and swelling will usually dissipate within 2 months after breast implant removal.

Treatment after surgery

  • The day after surgery. PAI doctor team will visit and remove the lymph drainage lines
  • Please purchase a bra. You need to wear after surgery.  This can be purchase in shopping malls.
  • The shower bath can be extended after removing fabric.
  • No heavy exercise 3 weeks after surgery
  • Apply Vitamin E Oil to help scar softer and dimmed down after 14 days surgery

PAYMENT

The payment can be prepared in Cash by US dollar, Euro, Japanese Yen, Hong Kong Dollar, Singapore Dollar, Australia dollar. If using credit cards (VISA/Master card), the hospital will charged 3% for international transaction fee. This is only for surgery fees. Hotels are not charged for international transaction fee. An extra charged for HIV is 50% from total cost.
