Nose Reconstruction

Preparation direct consultation and surgery.

During direct consultation with our surgeon - the surgeon will evaluate your general health status and any pre-existing health conditions or risk factors such as examine your breasts and take measurements of size and shape, skin quality, take photographs, discuss options and discuss likely outcomes for Nose Reconstruction Surgery (Total Nasal Surgery) as well as any risks or potential complications.

Preparation ¦ Nose Reconstruction Surgery surgery.

• Inform us about any allergies, any serious medical condition(s), and all medications you are
  taking (both prescription and non-prescription).
• Prepare question(s) for the surgeon.
• No Aspirin 2 days before surgery.
• Stop vitamin E Oil 1 day before surgery.
• Stop smoking 2 days and a month after surgery.
• Tell the doctor if you have any serious medical condition(s).
• The surgeon will conduct a routine, age, family history, and x-ray
• The surgeon will discuss other variables that influence the decision involved in the procedure
• The surgeon will explain the specific details, the technique to be used, where the operation will be performed, and what realistically can accomplish
• Stop meals and water starting from midnight before surgery
• Plan to be in Bangkok Thailand at least 10 days nose reconstruction surgery (before & after)

Range of stay for pre and post operative.

• Day 0 - Arrival date
• Day 1 - Consultation and Prepare for Laboratory Testing
• Day 2 to Day 3 - Surgery and 1 night in hospital private room after surgery
• Day 3 - Discharge from Hospital
• Day 3 to Day 9 - Stay in hotel for recovery period and follow up on doctor appointment
• Day 9 - Final checks (mostly dissolve stitches)
• Day 10 - Safe to fly

Things should bring from home.

• Phone charger, long phone charger
• Books, magazines
• Travel neck pillow
• Personal medicine

In most total nasal surgery, an incision is made inside the nostrils. The incision provides with access to cartilage and bone which can be cut, trimmed and manipulated to reshape the nose and alter its external appearance.

A hump is removed by using a sawing instrument or a chisel and then bringing the nasal bones together to form a narrower bridge. To be improve the angle between the bottom portion of the nose and upper lip. The nasal tip is also elevated. This is accomplished by trimming the septum through the incisions in the nostrils. If a large hump is removed, the base of the nose is disproportionately wide. To narrow small skin wedges are removed and the nostrils are brought closer to the center.

Post operative recovery.

After nose reconstruction surgery, pain that is easily controlled by medication usually will subside within a few days. If dressings have been applied will be replaced in a few days. Sutures will be removed within a week of surgery. Although the surgeon has made every effort to keep scars as inconspicuous as possible. Minimal swelling and discoloration of total nasal surgery will disappear rapidly.

Healing process, some degree of firmness of the nose may occur for weeks or even months following surgery.

Permit proper healing - you should avoid over activity and refrain from overhead lifting for three to four weeks.

The decision on when to return to work and normal activities depends on how fast you heal and how you feel. 

Nose Reconstruction Surgery's recovery period.

• Some numbness and temporary discomfort may persist around several days, but this can be controlled with pain medication. The bruising and swelling that does occur will usually subside considerably in three to eight weeks. Dissolve stitches from the surgery are remove by themselves -  days though this vary from skin tissue.
• Normal work can be resumed 10 days after nose reconstruction surgery. You can shower within 2 days after surgery date but avoid wound surgery area. Facial can be clean by wet wipe tissues. 
• Vigorous activity should be limited for several weeks, including jogging, bending, sex, or any activity that increases your blood pressure.

Recovery Timelines:

For local’s patient - You may resume to work several days after surgery but must avoid heavy lifting object over the head or fast movement during four weeks after surgery date. Dissolve stitches are remove by themselves days.

For international patient - Please plan to be in Bangkok at least ten days all together. Dissolve stitches will remove by times. After departure from Thailand, you may resume to work within a few days but must avoid heavy lifting object over the head or fast movement during four weeks after surgery date.

◊ Any bruising and swelling will usually dissipate within 2 to 3 months after nose reconstruction surgery (Total Nasal Surgery).
