Preparation for Re-Breast Augmentation Surgery

Proper preparation is key to ensure a safe procedure and smooth recovery after re-breast augmentation.

Before Surgery:

  • Inform your surgeon about any allergies, serious medical conditions, and all medications you are taking (both prescription and non-prescription).
  • Stop taking aspirin at least 2 days before surgery.
  • Stop using vitamin E oil 1 day before surgery.
  • Stop smoking at least 2 days before surgery and continue to avoid for 1 month after surgery.
  • Plan to fast (no food or water) from midnight before surgery.
  • Wear a shirt with front buttons on the day of surgery for comfort during recovery.
  • The surgeon will explain the procedure details, surgical technique, location of operation, and realistic outcomes.
  • Plan to stay in Thailand for at least 8 days after surgery.

Prepare comfortable clothing to wear after hospital discharge. A medical gown will be provided before entering the operating theater.

Day Before Surgery

  • No food after midnight
  • Remove piercings and jewelry
  • Take a shower with antibacterial liquid/soap, if instructed 

 

Things to Bring from Home:

  • Button-up shirts (large size, easy to put on and take off)
  • Loose, elasticated trousers
  • Slip-on shoes or slippers
  • Phone charger (long cable recommended)
  • Wet wipes, moisturizer, and lip balm
  • Books or magazines for entertainment
  • Travel neck pillow
  • Two sizes of post-op sport bras (zipper front) - e.g., if you are currently Cup A, bring Cups B and C for post-surgery use.

Tips to Minimize Complications During Recovery:

  • Wear your post-op bra, sport bra, or compression bra as instructed.
  • Avoid heavy lifting for at least 3 weeks.
  • Stay well-hydrated.
  • Sleep upright or in a slightly elevated position.
  • Follow all instructions provided by your surgeon and medical team.

Type of incision used in breast implant revision surgery/re-mammo, re-boobs will vary depending upon the type of procedures that will be performed. The incision can include, but is not limited to, any of the following: Inframammary incision, Peri-areolar incision, either vertical incision or wise pattern incision but mostly inframammary (under breast incision).

  • Pain Management: Post-surgery pain is usually mild and can be controlled with prescribed medications. Most discomfort subsides within a day or two.

Wound Care and Scar Management

  • Dressings will typically be replaced by a surgical bra within a few days.
  • Sutures are usually removed within one week after surgery.
  • While every effort is made to keep scars minimal and inconspicuous, scarring is an inevitable part of the healing process.
  • Minor swelling and discoloration of the breasts will gradually resolve over time.

Healing and Recovery

  • Some firmness in the breasts is normal for weeks or months following surgery. In certain cases, your surgeon may recommend breast massage to promote softness and maintain shape.
  • Temporary loss of nipple sensitivity may occur, though most patients regain some degree of sensation over time.
  • Activity Restrictions: To ensure proper healing, avoid strenuous activities and overhead lifting for approximately 4-6 weeks, depending on your surgeon’s advice.

For international patient - Please plan to be in Bangkok at least 10 days. Stitches will remove day 7 after surgery date. After departure from Bangkok Thailand, you may resume to work within a few days but must avoid heavy lifting object over the head or fast movement during 4 weeks after surgery date.

◊ Any bruising and swelling will usually dissipate within 2-3 months after re breast augmentation.

Treatment after surgery
during the first 7 days

  • The day after surgery. PAI doctor team will visit and remove the lymph drainage lines
  • You can remove the fabric stretch out on the third day and wear surgical bra or sports bra. Please purchase a sport bra bigger than current size.  You need to wear after surgery. This can be purchase in shopping malls.
  • The shower bath can be extended after removing fabric.
  • Sports bra should wear all day and night
  • Removing incisions and program massage will appoint 5 - 7 days after surgery.
  • No heavy exercise 4 weeks after surgery
  • Follow program massage within week 1 and continue at least 8 month or more
  • Apply vitamin E oil to help scar softer and dimmed down

If using credit cards (VISA/Master card), the hospital will charged 3% for international transaction fee. This is only for surgery fees. Hotels are not charged for international transaction fee. An extra charged for HIV is 50% from total cost.
