Preparation Before Chin Augmentation

To ensure a safe and smooth procedure, please follow these pre-surgery guidelines:

• Inform us of any allergies, serious medical conditions, and all medications you are taking (both prescription and non-prescription).
• Avoid taking Aspirin for at least 2 days before surgery.
• Discontinue Vitamin E or Vitamin E oil 1 day before surgery.
• Stop smoking at least 2 days before and for 1 month after surgery, as smoking can affect healing.
• Shower and shampoo thoroughly before the procedure. Please do not wear any cosmetics, lotions, or skincare products on the day of surgery.
• Inform your doctor again if you have any medical concerns or ongoing treatments.
• Plan to stay in Thailand for at least 7 days in total to allow for proper recovery and follow-up appointments.

What to Bring from Home

For your comfort and convenience during your stay, we recommend bringing the following items:

• Loose, button-up shirts (easy to wear after surgery)
• Slip-on shoes or slippers
• Phone charger (a long cable is recommended)
• Books or magazines for relaxation
• Travel neck pillow for added comfort
• Personal daily medications (please inform our medical team about them in advance)

Trip Planning for Chin Augmentation Surgery

To help you plan your visit and recovery in Bangkok, here’s a suggested schedule for your chin augmentation procedure:

• Day 1: Consultation with your plastic surgeon
• Day 2: Surgery day
• Days 3-9: Recovery period and follow-up appointments
• Day 9: Removal of stitches

For local’s patient - You may resume to work after a few days but should avoid heavy lifting object over the head or fast movement during 3 to 4 weeks after surgery date.

For international patient - Please plan to be in Bangkok at least 7 days. Stitches will remove day five after surgery date. After departure from Thailand, you may resume to work but must avoid heavy lifting object over the head or fast movement during 3 to 4 weeks after surgery date.

◊ Any bruising and swelling will usually dissipate within one months after chin augmentation surgery.

Chin augmentation surgery may take from 45 minutes to an hour either under general anesthetic or under a local anesthetic. 

Most chin augmentation procedures involve an incision inside the mouth inside the lower lip, or in the skin just under the chin.

Post-Operative Care

After chin implant surgery, you may experience some soreness or mild discomfort, which can be easily managed with prescribed medication. Your surgeon may recommend a liquid or soft diet (such as clear soup) for the first day or two following surgery to ensure comfort and proper healing.

This procedure is typically performed as a day surgery, and most patients can return to work within a few days, especially for desk-based jobs. The dressing and sutures are usually removed within one week after surgery.

Recovery Timeline for Chin Augmentation

After chin augmentation surgery, swelling and bruising are normal and typically last for up to two weeks. In some cases, minor swelling may persist for up to one month.

Most patients can return to normal desk work within 3 to 5 days after the procedure. However, vigorous activities such as jogging, bending, sexual activity, or any exercise that raises blood pressure should be avoided for at least 3 weeks to ensure proper healing.

Within a few weeks, minor swelling and discoloration can usually be easily concealed, allowing you to enjoy a more defined and balanced facial profile with confidence.
