What is Chin Shaving ? Chin Shaving surgery is involve changing the size and possibly the shape of the chin in order to make it appear smaller. Chin shaving may beneficial for those who have a large chin that looks disproportionate, when compared to rest of face or look too large in two dimensions and either being too long vertically or projecting too far forward horizontally.

Chin Shaving is performed under General Anesthesia. This is required one night in hospital. Direct consultation is the best answer with the surgeon for technique to be perform. surgical details:

  • Inform us about any allergies, any serious medical condition(s), and all medications you are 
    taking (both prescription and non-prescription). 
  • No Aspirin 2 days before surgery.
  • Stop vitamin E Oil 1 day before surgery.
  • Stop smoking 2 days and a month after surgery.
  • Tell doctor if you have any serious medical condition(s). 
  • Stop meal and water starting from midnight before surgery.
  • Plan to be in Thailand at least 7 days after surgery.

Aesthetic chin shaving typically is performed to contour to a receding chin.

  • After chin shaving surgery, there is some soreness and discomfort which is easily controlled by medication.  The surgeon may advise a liquid diet for a day or two following surgery.
  • The patient is generally back to work, normal activities within a week of surgery.
  • Healing process, some degree of firmness may occur for weeks or even months following surgery. In some instances, the surgeon may provide medication to promote faster healing process.
  • The decision on when to return to normal activities depends on how fast you heal and how you feel. To permit proper healing, you should avoid over activity and refrain from overhead lifting at least 3 weeks.

Surgery Schedule (require at least 5 days after surgery in Thailand)

  • Day 1 - Consultation and prepare for laboratory testing
  • Day 2 - Surgery and one night in hospital private room after surgery
  • Day 3 - Discharge from hospital
  • Day 3 to Day 7 - Stay in hotel for recovery and follow up on doctor appointments
  • Day 7 - Stitches removal and final check up (at least five days following surgery)
  • Day 8 - Safe to fly
  • Removing stitches 5 days after surgery
  • No heavy exercise 3 weeks after surgery
  • Scars are usually well hidden and normally fade in time
  • Swelling and bruising can be minimized by keeping the head elevated as much as possible during the first few weeks of recovery

For local’s patient – You may resume to work after a few days but must avoid heavy lifting object over the head or fast movement during 4 to 8 weeks after surgery date.

For international patient – Please plan to be in Bangkok at least eight days. Stitches will remove day five after surgery date. After departure from Thailand, you may resume to work within a few days but must avoid heavy lifting object over the head or fast movement during four to eight weeks after surgery date.

◊ Any bruising and swelling will usually dissipate within 2 to 3 months after chin shaving.

  • The face washing can be extended after removing stitches.
  • Removing incisions will appoint within 5 - 7 days after surgery.

PAYMENT

The payment can be prepared in Cash by US dollar, Euro, Japanese Yen, Hong Kong Dollar, Singapore Dollar, Australia dollar. If using credit cards (VISA/Master card), the hospital will charged 3% for international transaction fee. This is only for surgery fees. Hotels are not charged for international transaction fee. An extra charged for HIV is 50% from total cost.
