VASER LipoSelection is involved contouring approachto removing body fat deposits reveal muscle tone underneath.

Because fatty tissue is broken up and emulsified before being removed, VASER lipo leaves behind connective tissue critical to optimal recovery and smooth results.

The surgeon makes a tiny incision in the targeted area, and infuses a saline solution mixed with lidocaine and epinephrine to help shrink blood vessels and numb the area to be treated then inserts a small patented probe that emits ultrasonic waves to selectively break up fat deposits, leaving important tissues relatively intact.

Once the fatty tissue is emulsified, it can be removed through the small incision with massage and/or controlled suction designed to be gentle. Any residual fatty tissue not removed from the body is either absorbed or smoothly reshaped to the patient’s contour.

The principle of VASER lipo surgery allows to remove the adipose tissue on respecting the other tissues, that is to say a shorter postoperative.

 After surgery, pain that can be controlled by medication may be present for several days. Numbness or discomfort may be experienced for vary periods of time.

A patient who was admitted to a hospital will be released 1 day following the operation. The protective bandages or corset-like garment often are removed within a week of surgery.

However, to further proper skin shrinkage, you may be asked to wear a long-legged girdle for 2-3 months

Some swelling and skin discoloration will exist, but usually will subside within 3-6 weeks or several months. There is a possibility that skin over the treated area will have a rippled or uneven effect. 

If surface imperfections such as skin dimpling (often called cellulite) are present before surgery, they will remain after it.  In some cases, permanent sagging of the skin may occur when the fat removed from the area exceeds the capacity of the skin to contract.

After about 1 to 6 months, you’ll start to see the results more clearly as your body settles into its modified form. After getting VASER liposuction, you’ll need to keep up your diet and exercise routine so that your body doesn’t regain the fat deposits that were removed.

Some peoples with localized deposits of fat, who are also overweight must be willing to accept a greater possibility of contour irregularities such as poor skin saggy in exchange for looking better in clothing and other cosmetic surgery may be require.

An older individual with loss of skin elasticity may require surgical removal of excess skin as a secondary procedure to achieve maximum results.

Liposuction and Post operative cares :

• Get plenty of rest.
• Follow balanced diet.
• Decreased activity may promote constipation, so you may want to add more raw fruit to your diet, and be sure to increase fluid intake.
• Take pain medication as prescribed. Do not take aspirin or any products containing aspirin.
• Do not drink alcohol when taking pain medications.
• Even when not taking pain medications please no alcohol for 3 weeks as it causes fluid retention.
• If you are taking vitamins with iron, resume these as tolerated.
• Do not smoke. Smoking may delays healing and increases the risk of complications.
• Start walking as soon as possible as these helps to reduce swelling and lowers the chance of blood clots.
• Activities involving the affected sites should be minimized for approximately 3 weeks.
• Strenuous exercise and activities such as sports should be avoided for 3-4 weeks, depending on the extent of the surgery.
• Avoid exposing scars to sun for at least 1 month.
• Always use a strong sunblock, if sun exposure is unavoidable (SPF 50+).
• Keep incisions clean and inspect daily for signs of infection.
• No tub soaking while sutures or drains are in place.

Recovery Timeline :

• Bruising: Can be painful in the short term, and should fade after a few weeks.
• Swelling: Should subside gradually over a month or two.
• Scars: Will vary in size depending on the particular procedure and should fade over the weeks.
• Pain: Should be temporary and controlled by either medication or by a prescription.
• Numbness: Sometime persists for a few weeks.
• Limited mobility: Will depend on the exact procedure.
• Secondary procedures may sometimes be recommended to reduce excess skin.

Patient may not see a noticeable difference in the shape of body quite soon after surgery. However, improvement will become even more apparent after about four to six weeks or when most of the swelling has subsided. After about three months, any persistent mild swelling usually disappears and the final contour will be visible.

Tips to minimize VASER lipoSelection recovery.

• Proper healing starts with rest
• Eat a healthy diet with lots of protein, fruits and drink plenty of water to help reduce swelling 
• Wear post operative compression girdle follow instruction from your doctor
• Apply scar gel after stitches removed
• Avoid sun direct exposure for a few weeks

For local’s patient - You may resume to work after a few days but must avoid heavy lifting over the head or fast movement during 3 to 4 weeks after surgery date. Ideally at least five days off work.

For international patient - Please plan to be in Bangkok at least 10 days. Stitches will remove day 7 after surgery date. You may resume to work within a few days but must avoid heavy lifting over the head or fast movement during 3 to 4 weeks after surgery date. 

◊ Any bruising and swelling will usually dissipate within 6 to 12 weeks after under liposuction.
