Mini facelift

Mini Facelift surgery's preparation.

• Inform us about any allergies, any serious medical condition(s), and all medications you are
  taking (both prescription and non-prescription).
• No Aspirin 2 days before surgery.
• Stop vitamin E Oil 1 day before surgery.
• Stop smoking 2 days and a month after surgery.
• Tell doctor if you have any serious medical condition(s).
• Plan to be in Thailand at least 12 days all together.

Things should be prepare after mini face lift surgery.

• Button-up shirts in large sizes
• Slip-on shoes or slippers
• Phone charger, long phone charger
• Books, magazines
• Travel neck pillow

Oversea patients :

• Day 0 - Arrival date
• Day 1 - Consultation and Prepare for Laboratory Testing
• Day 2 and 3 - Surgery and 1 night in hospital private room after surgery
• Day 3 - Discharge from hospital
• Day 3 to Day 12 - Stay in hotel for recovery period and follow up on doctor appointment
• Day 12 - Able to fly back home with stitches/sutures and any local doctor can be remove at home (safe to fly) but if the patient's prefer fully removed stitches must stay until day 16.

Local patients:

• Day 1 - Direct consultation, medical health exams and plan surgery date
• Day 2 - Surgery date (day surgery)
• Day 3 - Follow up 
• Day 12 - Stitches removal and final checks

Mini facelift can only be performed surgically; minimally invasive rejuvenation treatments cannot achieve the same results, but may help delay the time at which a facelift becomes appropriate and complement the results of surgery.

Mini facelift surgical procedure (SMAS) - shorter incisions at the temples, continuing around the ear. SMAS facelift technique is to improving the jawline's definition as well as lift up cheek mass securely without placing the skin under greater than normal tension.

The surgeon will lift the facial tissue and muscle beneath the skin higher and removes the excess skin. Then the skin is placed over the face, and incisions are closed with sutures. The scars will be hidden in the hairline and the normal creases of the skin.

Post operative recovery.

After mini facelift surgery, some numbness and temporary discomfort may persist around the incision for several days, but this can be controlled with pain medication. The bruising and swelling that does occur will usually subside considerably in the first week. Bandages will come off a day or two after the surgery. Stitches from the surgery are removed during the 7 days, though this varies from patient to patient.

Normal work can be resumed 7 days after a procedure. You should be able to shower and wash your hair 5 days after the bandages come off. However, vigorous activity should be limited for several weeks, including jogging, or any activity that increases your blood pressure.

Most of the visible signs of Mini facelift surgery should disappear within a few weeks, and minor swelling and bruising can usually be hidden. Do not worry if you feel a bit tired and let down at first, as your body heals itself and you begin to look better, you will feel better as well. Patients are usually very satisfied with their new look once their surgery site has completely healed. Patients often do not realize just how much their contributed to an older appearance until they see their new, refreshed look.

Recovery Mini facelift surgery Timelines. 

• Removing incisions 10 days after surgery.
• No heavy exercise 2 weeks after surgery.
• Scars are usually well hidden and normally fade in time.
• Swelling and bruising can be minimized by keeping the head elevated as much as possible during the first few weeks of recovery (majority of healing occurs in the first 2 to 4 weeks after surgery.
• Begin to feel normal sensations three to six months after surgery.
• Common experience sensation changes around facelift incision sites for up to 12 months.
• Results from mini facelift will look very good after about one month and will look best after 3 months.

Normal work can be resumed 7 days after a procedure (desk job). You should be able to shower and wash your hair 7 days after the bandages come off. Vigorous activity should be limited for several weeks include jogging or any activity that increases your blood pressure within one month surgery.

For local’s patient - You may resume to work five days after surgery with stitches remain. Stitches are remove day 7 to day 10 after surgery date. Please avoid heavy lifting object over the head or fast movement during four to eight weeks after surgery date.

For international patient - Please plan to be in Bangkok at least twelve days all together. Stitches will remove seven to ten days after surgery date. You may resume to work within a few days after depart from Bangkok. But must avoid heavy lifting object over the head or fast movement during four  to eight weeks after surgery date.

◊ Any bruising and swelling will usually dissipate within 2 to 3 months after mini facelift surgery.
