What is sub brow lift blepharoplasty ? – Sub brow lift or Sub Brow Lift Blepharoplasty is a surgical technique casing of dropping the outer corners of eyes or arched. Sub Brow Lift is a type of cosmetic surgery that helps with droopy eyebrows or ptosis. This surgical will cause the skin around the eye corner or droopy eyelid to be lifted and solve the problem of difficulty in seeing from droopy eyelids. Sub brow lift is a surgery to lift the upper eyelids by hiding the wound underneath eyebrow bone or upper eyebrow.

surgical details:

To be prepare Sub Brow lift surgery

  • Inform us about any allergies, any serious medical condition(s), and all medications you are
    taking (both prescription and non-prescription)
  • No Aspirin 2 days before surgery
  • Stop vitamin E Oil 1 day before surgery
  • Stop smoking 2 days and a month after surgery
  • Tell doctor if you have any serious medical condition(s)
  • Stiches are remove five days after surgery date
  • Plan to be in Thailand at least 6 days after surgery

On the day before Sub brow lift surgery make sure that you have items stocked at home such as ice cubes or ice pack.

Shower and shampoo before the procedure and facial wash. Cosmetics should not be worn. Arrange someone to pick up from Preecha Aesthetic Institute.

Sub Brow Lift is perform under Local Anesthesia (day surgery).

An incision is on the lower margin of the brow. The excess skin is removed followed by lifting and fixing of the upper eyelid skin.

 

All consultation, medical health checks, preparation and follow up are appoints within Preecha Aesthetic Institute.

Surgery time required: 60 - 90 minutes.

Anesthesia: Local Anesthesia.

Back to work : After 4 days. 

Removing incisions : After 5 to 7 days.

Strenuous activity : 6 - 8 weeks.

Fading of scars : several months.

 

Post operative recovery period :

  • The recovery process after sub brow may take up to a few weeks.
  • Patients will receive instruction for during the home care.
  • The first two days doctor recommend keeping iced eye pack on the eyes to reduce bruising and swelling. Patients are recommended to keep their head higher than the body while sleeping as this will accelerate the recovery process.
  • The third day after surgery, patients are advised to keep lukewarm eye pads for comfort and wearing dark glasses for at least one week is also recommended to prevent irritation that may be caused by the wind and sun exposure.
  • Patients who undergo sub brow may watch TV and are able to read after two or three days.
  • Patients may go to work in three days or a week after the operation. The scars may however still be visible but one can use makeup to cover them.
  • Scars are usually well hidden and normally fade in time.
  • Sub brow surgery may leave patients with bruises or swelling on their faces and sometimes patients become depressed from this reason. These are some of the side effects of surgery, which are completely normal and which disappear in few weeks, after a complete healing.

 

Sub Brow Lift surgery schedule is required at least 5 days after surgery in Bangkok.

Day 1 - Consultation and/or surgery at the same time

Recovery Timelines Sub Brow Lift.

  • Most patients experience minimal pain after surgery.
  • Degree of swelling is patient specific and depends on the amount incurred by the surgery (e.g. incisional method with removal of fat and excess skin is significantly more traumatic than a partial incisional method without fat removal).
  • Stiches removed 5-7 days after surgery for incisional methods.
  • Bruising usually resolves at about 2 weeks.
  • You may return to work (desk job) after 1 week.
  • You may drive 5 days after surgery.
  • You may gradually resume physical activity 4 weeks after surgery.

 

For local’s patient - You may resume to work after a few days but must avoid heavy lifting object over the head or fast movement during 4 weeks after surgery date. Stitches are remove after five days surgery date.

For oversea patient - Please plan to be in Bangkok at least seven days. Stitches will remove day 5 after surgery date. You may resume to work after removed stitches but must avoid heavy lifting object over the head or fast movement during 4 weeks after surgery date.

◊ Any bruising and swelling will usually dissipate within 2 - 3 months after Sub Brow Lift surgery.

 

Treatment after surgery
during the first 7 days

General care.

  • Apply cold pack in the first 3 days and then warm pack in the following 3 days. Elevate the head during sleep to reduce swelling.
  • Avoid smoking for at least one month. Smoking increases the risk of wound complications.
  • Good rest and adequate sleep are helpful for a speedy recovery.
  • Be relaxed and calm. Contact the clinic if there are any queries.
  • Medicine: Finish the oral antibiotics as prescribed. Take the painkiller when necessary.
  • Wound care: Clean the wound with a clean cotton tip soaked with sterile water/saline. Apply antibiotic ointment. No wound dressings are required.
  • Physical activity: Avoid heavy physical activities and exercises for at least one month.
  • Follow-up: Come back 5 - 7 days after surgery for suture removal.

Emergency: If there is heavy bleeding, a rapid increase in swelling or severe pain, contact the clinic/doctor for advice immediately.
