Preparing for Sub Brow Lift Surgery

Proper preparation ensures a safe and smooth blepharoplasty procedure. Before your surgery, please follow these guidelines:

Medical Information:

• Inform us of any allergies, serious medical conditions, and all medications you are taking (both prescription and over-the-counter)
• Notify your doctor if you have any serious health conditions

Medications & Lifestyle:

• Avoid Aspirin for at least 2 days before surgery
• Stop Vitamin E oil 1 day prior to surgery
• Stop smoking at least 2 days before surgery and continue avoiding smoking for a month after surgery

Post-Surgery Planning:

• Stitches will be removed five days after surgery
• Plan to stay in Bangkok, Thailand for at least 6 days after surgery for proper recovery
• Prepare ice packs or ice cubes at home for post-operative care

Hygiene & Clothing:

• Shower and shampoo before the procedure, and wash your eyebrows
• Do not wear cosmetics on the day of surgery
• Arrange for someone to take you to and from the clinic
• Wear comfortable, button-down clothing for easy dressing after surgery

Following these steps helps ensure a smooth surgery experience and optimal recovery.

Things to Bring for Your Sub Brow Lift Procedure

To ensure a comfortable and smooth recovery at home after your sub brow lift surgery, bring the following items:

• Slip-on shoes or slippers for easy movement
• Extra pillows to keep your head elevated while resting
• Phone charger (preferably a long one for convenience)
• Books or magazines for entertainment during recovery
• Short-sleeve, button-down shirts in a loose, comfortable fit
• Sunglasses to protect your eyes from sunlight and wind

Surgical Procedure

A Sub Brow Lift is a procedure performed under local anesthesia, which means you stay awake but feel no pain. It is a day surgery, so you can return home the same day.

The surgeon makes a small incision just below the eyebrow, where the scar can be well hidden. Excess skin is gently removed, and the upper eyelid skin is lifted and secured. This helps open the eyes, reduce drooping, and create a more refreshed and natural appearance.

Treatment Overview

Post-Operative Recovery Period

The recovery process after a sub brow lift usually takes a few weeks, with most patients feeling comfortable returning to normal routines much sooner.

Patients will receive clear home-care instructions to support proper healing.

First 2 Days

• Your doctor will recommend using cold (iced) eye packs to help reduce swelling and bruising
• Keep your head elevated above your body while sleeping, which helps speed up recovery

Day 3 and After

• You may switch to lukewarm eye pads for comfort
• Wearing dark sunglasses for at least one week is recommended to protect the eyes from wind and sun exposure
• Light activities such as watching TV or reading are usually possible after 2–3 days

Returning to Daily Activities

• Most patients can return to work within 3 days to 1 week, depending on individual healing
• Incision lines may still be visible at this stage, but makeup can be used to cover them

Healing and Scars

• Mild bruising and swelling around the eyes or face are normal and gradually improve over time
• Scars are typically well hidden along the eyebrow and continue to fade naturally over several months

Emotional Well-Being

• Some patients may feel temporarily concerned or emotionally low due to swelling or bruising. This is a normal part of the healing process and usually resolves as recovery progresses.

Do and Don’t After Sub Brow Lift Surgery

✅ Do’s

• Apply cold compresses during the first 48 hours to reduce swelling and bruising
• Keep your head elevated while resting or sleeping, especially during the first week
• Take prescribed medications exactly as instructed by your doctor
• Clean the incision area gently according to post-operative instructions
• Wear dark sunglasses when outdoors to protect the eyes from wind and sunlight
• Attend all follow-up appointments at Preecha Aesthetic Institute
• Rest well and stay hydrated to support healing

❌ Don’t

• Do not rub or touch the incision area
• Avoid strenuous activities and heavy exercise for at least 6–8 weeks
• Do not bend forward or lift heavy objects during the early recovery period
• Avoid swimming, saunas, and steam rooms until approved by your surgeon
• Do not apply makeup near the incision until stitches are removed and your doctor allows it
• Avoid direct sun exposure on the incision area
• Do not smoke or drink alcohol, as these can delay healing

When to Contact Your Doctor

• Increasing pain, redness, or swelling
• Signs of infection such as fever or discharge
• Sudden changes in vision

Sub Brow Lift surgery schedule is required at least 5 days after surgery in Bangkok.

Day 1 - Consultation and/or surgery at the same time
Day 2 - Surgery (if require for the next appointment)
Day 3 to Day 5 - Rest

Day 7 - Stitches will be removed

Day 7 - You may return to work after removing stitches

Recovery Timelines Sub Brow Lift.

• Most patients experience minimal pain after surgery.
• Degree of swelling is patient specific and depends on the amount incurred by the surgery (e.g. incisional method with removal of fat and excess skin is significantly more traumatic than a partial incisional method without fat removal).
• Stiches removed 5-7 days after surgery for incisional methods.
• Bruising usually resolves at about 2 weeks.
• You may return to work (desk job) after 1 week.
• You may drive 5 days after surgery.
• You may gradually resume physical activity 4 weeks after surgery.

For local’s patient - You may resume to work after a few days but must avoid heavy lifting object over the head or fast movement during 4 weeks after surgery date. Stitches are remove after five days surgery date.

For oversea patient - Please plan to be in Bangkok at least seven days. Stitches will remove day 5 after surgery date. You may resume to work after removed stitches but must avoid heavy lifting object over the head or fast movement during 4 weeks after surgery date.

◊ Any bruising and swelling will usually dissipate within 2 - 3 months after Sub Brow Lift surgery.
