Preparation before Tracheal shave or Adam's apple contouring surgery.

• Inform us about any allergies, any serious medical condition(s), and all medications you are
  taking (both prescription and non-prescription).
• Prepare question(s) for the surgeon.
• No Aspirin 2 days before surgery.
• Stop vitamin E Oil 1 day before surgery.
• Stop smoking 2 days and a month after surgery.
• Tell the doctor if you have any serious medical condition(s).
• The surgeon will conduct a routine breast examination, age, family history, and x-ray
• The surgeon will discuss other variables that influence the decision involved in the procedure
• The surgeon will explain the specific details, the technique to be used, where the operation will be performed and what realistically can accomplish
• Stop meals and water starting from midnight before surgery
• While recovery gynecomastia, you should wear a button t shirt that is easily take off
• Plan to be in Thailand at least five days after Adam's apple contouring / tracheal shave surgery

• Day 0 - Arrival date (check in hotel)
• Day 1 - Consultation and Prepare for Laboratory Testing

• Day 2 - Surgery and 1 night in hospital private room after surgery
• Day 3 - Discharge from Hospital
• Day 3 - Check in hotel after discharge from hospital
• Day 3 to Day 7 - Stay in hotel for recovery period and follow up on doctor appointments
• Day 7 - Stitches removal and final check up (check out hotel)

For local’s patient - You may resume to work after a few days but should avoid fast movement during 2 to 3 weeks after surgery date. Stitches are remove in day five after surgery date.

For international patient - Please plan to be in Bangkok at least 7 days. Stitches will remove day five after surgery date. You may resume to work but must avoid fast movement during 2 to 3 weeks after surgery date.

◊ Any bruising and swelling will usually dissipate within one month after Temporal Lift surgery.

Surgeons who specialize in transsexual surgeries will perform Tracheal Shave (adam’s apple contouring). Tracheal Shave surgery is the most common surgery performed on transsexual women.

After an anesthetic is administered to the patient, a small, horizontal incision is made on the bottom of the Adam's apple.

The muscles in the throat are then held apart with forceps, and the protruding cartilage is shaved down with a scalpel, thus making the throat appear smoother and less angular.

The incision is then closed with sutures, and a red tiny line will mark the incision for about four to six weeks.

After tracheal surgery (adam's apple) surgery, there are some numbness and temporary discomfort may persist around the incision for few days but this can be controlled with pain medication.

The bruising or swelling that does occur will usually subside considerably in the first week. Bandages will come off a day or two after surgery.

Stitches from the surgery are removed the 5 days, though this varies from patient to patient.

• Normal work can be resumed 3 days after an Adam’s apple procedure. You should be able to shower in the next day after the bandages come off. Vigorous activity should be limited for four weeks including jogging, bending, sex, or any activity that increases your blood pressure.
• Most of the visible signs of Adam’s apple surgery should disappear within a few weeks and minor swelling and bruising can usually be hidden.
• Do not worry if you feel a bit tired and let down at first, as your body heals itself and you begin to look better, you will feel better as well.
• Patients are usually very satisfied with their new look once their surgery site has completely healed.
• Patients often do not realize just how much their contributed to an older appearance until they see their new refreshed look.
